Poetry Division at Pretzel City Press LLC
READING, PA, August 15, 2025: The indie publishing company known as Pretzel City Press LLC, founded in June 2020, is excited to announce the opening of a new division for poetry chapbooks. The first chapbook, Letting Go of Forever: A Poetic Memoir by Susan L. Pena, will formally launch at a book reading and signing to be held "after hours" (RSVP required) at Simply Bold Cafe in West Reading, sponsored by the Cafe and Avenue Book Shop, located at 550 Penn Avenue. The poet is a longtime journalist covering Arts and Culture topics for the Reading Eagle newspaper; however, outside of her reporter life, she writes poetry and is currently serving as the President of Berks Bards, a local nonprofit organization that meets monthly at The GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading. A review of this first chapbook is available upon request. The second chapbook will debut in early September, entitled River Names: A Collection of Nature Poetry, written by Kutztown University Professor Michael J. Downing, Ph.D. The launch date for River Names will be announced shortly at pretzelcitypress.com, and a reading + signing will tentatively take place at Firefly Bookstore in Kutztown, PA, on Main Street.
